Moskvich is a car brand born at the MZMA small-car plant in Moscow, later renamed AZLK, where the Opel Kadett-based 400 went into production in 1946. Its best-known models were the rear-wheel-drive 408, 412 and 2140 saloons and the front-wheel-drive 2141 hatchback; the name was revived in 2022.
