ZAZ, the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant in Ukraine, began car production in 1960 with the small rear-engined Zaporozhets 965. It later built the front-wheel-drive Tavria and Slavuta and assembled models from partners such as Daewoo, Chevrolet and Chery.
